Jada Pinkett Smith Matches Daughter With Newly Shaved Head: ‘Willow Made Me Do It’

Like daughter, like mother.

Jada Pinkett Smith, who’s kept her hair under wraps often while filming her Facebook Watch series Red Table Talk, finally revealed what’s underneath: She shaved her head and reposted a touching picture of her and daughter Willow, who also recently shaved her head and rested it gently on her mother’s shoulder in the photo.

“Willow made me do it because it was time to let go BUT … my 50’s are bout to be Divinely lit with this shed,” Smith captioned the photo on Monday.

J. Cole, Sheila E. and Gabrielle Union sent an array of fire emojis in the comments section under Smith’s repost, with Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles-Lawson writing, “It just shows that beautiful face and soulful eyes more prominently.” Keri Hilson echoed her sentiments by commenting, “OMG I LOVE THIS. That face is forever giving in any frame of reference.” Additionally, Kelly Rowland agreed with Lena Waithe’s “Perfection” comment.

Willow originally posted the photo on her account, writing, “<a gift is pure when it is given from the heart to the right person at the right time and at the right place, and when we expect nothing in return>.”

The 20-year-old singer first revealed she shaved her head in a stunning selfie from July 5. Her recent interview with Billboard retraced her steps into the pop-punk music space when the then-12-year-old singer first shaved her head in rebellion of continuing her first tour, which was ironically named after her 2010 Billboard Hot 100 No. 11 hit “Whip My Hair.”
