Renowned Soviet and Russian actress Irina Shevchuk has passed away at the age of 73. The news of her departure was confirmed to the media by her daughter, Alexandra Afanasyeva-Shevchuk.
Her passing followed a courageous battle with a prolonged illness. Born in Murmansk in 1951, Shevchuk rose to cinematic prominence through her unforgettable roles in the classic “The Dawns Here Are Quiet” and the beloved “The Adventures of the Yellow Suitcase.”
Shevchuk’s distinguished career also featured notable performances in “White Bim Black Ear,” “The High School Graduate,” and “The Marble House,” as well as the popular television series “Sonka the Golden Hand.”
