Early reviews for the fifth installment of Pixar’s iconic Toy Story franchise have officially surfaced online.
The film currently holds a 92% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. While this marks the lowest score within the series, it still reinforces the franchise’s standing as the most critically acclaimed film collection in the site’s history. Meanwhile, the movie has garnered a score of 74/100 on Metacritic.
Critics have been quick to praise the sequel, labeling it a “masterpiece” and “the finest sequel since the 1990s,” while highlighting its “heartfelt” narrative and signature “Pixar charm.”
Directed by Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo), the film features a star-studded voice cast including Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Greta Lee, Keanu Reeves, and Conan O’Brien. The plot follows Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang as they face a new challenge: a sophisticated “LilyPad” tablet that has captured the undivided attention of their owner, Bonnie.
Industry analysts project that Toy Story 5 is poised for the most successful opening in the franchise’s history, with estimates suggesting the film could haul in over $150 million in North America during its debut weekend alone.
