The BET Awards are just around the corner, and this year’s theme is “Year of the Black Woman,” aiming to celebrate and honor Black women’s impact on culture.

How to watch the 2021 BET Awards

The BET Awards, hosted by Taraji P. Henson, air on Sunday (June 27) at 8 p.m. ET/PT on BET and simulcast on BET Her, Logo, MTV, MTV2, TV Land and VH1.

Ahead of the show, a one hour documentary special titled BET Awards: Year of the Black Woman will showcase some of the leading Black women in entertainment, including Megan Thee Stallion, Taraji P. Henson, Jazmine Sullivan, H.E.R., City Girls, and Andra Day. Connie Orlando, EVP Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET, will also make a special appearance. The special airs on Saturday (June 26) at 8 p.m. ET/PT on BET and BET Her.

Terrence J and Tanisha Long will also host the BET Awards pre-show on Sunday (June 27) at 7 p.m. ET/PT with performances by Queen Naija, Coi Leray, Mooski, Spotemgotem, and CJ.

Who is performing at the 2021 BET Awards?

Megan Thee Stallion, Andra Day, City Girls, DJ Khaled, H.E.R., Jazmine Sullivan, Kirk Franklin, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Migos, Moneybagg Yo!, Rapsody, Roddy Ricch and Tyler, The Creator are set to perform.

In addition, up-and-coming artists Tone Stith and Bree Runway will perform on the BET Amplified Stage.

Who will be honored at the 2021 BET Awards?

The 2021 BET Awards will honor Queen Latifah with this year’s lifetime achievement award.

Additionally, BET will be honoring the late DMX during a special tribute at the 2021 BET Awards. Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Griselda, and Swizz Beatz will deliver performances during the tribute. Actor Michael K. Williams is also set to make an appearance. The tribute was curated by producer Beatz, who is DMX’s longtime friend.
