Kanye West is set to kick off the release of his 10th studio album Donda with a live event on Thursday night (Aug. 5).
Kanye West Presents the Donda Album Release will take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, where he’s been hunkered down as his temporary living quarters while he finishes the album. ‘Ye also hosted a Donda listening event two weeks ago, when the rapper teased high-profile collabs with Jay-Z, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, Baby Keem and many more. It remains to be seen how the album’s track list might have changed since then.
Demna Gvasalia, the creative director of Balenciaga, is providing creative direction for the Donda release event.
West has already opened the doors (virtually speaking) for fans to watch the action taking place in his cell-like chambers in an exclusive Apple Music video-only, muted feed, which can already be viewed here. Fans shared a series of snaps from the livestream, in which someone who appears to be West posed in a now-signature face mask and a black Balenciaga spike-covered jacket, did push-ups in a Donda bulletproof vest as his crew danced around him, and invited Chance the Rapper to come chill in his spot as he sat on his twin bed laying down vocals.
The album Donda, named after West’s late mother, was originally expected on July 23, but is now slated to drop on Friday, Aug. 6.
Kanye West Presents the Donda Album Release will officially begin livestreaming on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on Apple Music.
