How to Extract in Sand Raiders of Sophie

Securing your hard-earned loot is the ultimate goal in Sand: Raiders of Sophie, but doing so requires mastering the game’s extraction mechanics. This gritty, desert-themed extraction shooter blends the vehicle-heavy tension of Arc Raiders with the adventurous spirit of Sea of Thieves. You’ll navigate vast, desolate plains inside massive walking fortresses known as tramplers, engaging in combat or forging uneasy alliances with other players to stockpile wealth before making a narrow escape.

Successfully exfiltrating from the wasteland is easier said than done. Here is a comprehensive breakdown of how to secure your path to safety.

To leave the map with your inventory intact, you must locate and trigger a radio tower. Press ‘M’ to open your map and scan for the circular white icons depicting a door; these markers represent your extraction points. While your trampler is the most efficient way to travel, keep in mind that if your vehicle is destroyed, you’ll have to hoof it across the sand on foot. Once you are within 200 meters of a tower, a dedicated icon will appear on your HUD to guide you the rest of the way.

After reaching a tower, climb the ladder to the summit and interact with the radio console. This triggers a flare and initiates an extraction sequence. Soon after, a massive transport ship will arrive and lower a rope; interact with it to begin the final ascent. Once the extraction countdown finishes, you’ll be lifted safely away with all your spoils.

If you are jumping into Voyage mode—which we highly recommend for those just starting out—you have the flexibility to head to a radio tower and leave at your own convenience. While there is no time limit, be aware that the map is a “drop-in, drop-out” environment, meaning prime loot locations might have already been picked clean by other explorers.

Conversely, Storm Dive mode adds a layer of urgency. Extractions are locked until a specific timer expires, so monitor your map closely. Once these zones activate, move with purpose; each tower is a single-use extraction point. Once a squad has successfully boarded, that tower is gone for good. Furthermore, as the encroaching storm ravages the landscape, certain towers will become permanently cut off, forcing you to plan your route carefully.
