Justin Bieber has been blowing up Kacey Musgraves‘ phone lately, but the “Star-Crossed” singer is more overwhelmed than starstruck by the calls.
When the country superstar sat down for an interview with The New York Times, her conversation was interrupted by a call. “Look at this,” she told her Golden Hour producers Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk while raising an eyebrow and showing them her screen. Fitchuk told her to answer it, and shortly after replying “No,” she picked up and Bieber’s face appeared on her screen.
“You freaking love an unannounced FaceTime, dude,” Musgraves says to him, to which the “Stay” singer apologetically responds, “My bad. What are you guys doing?” before she hangs up.
But it’s all love — and apparently no warnings — between the two. “I’ll be lying in bed, hung over at 8 a.m. — FaceTime. It’s a decline for me, but he’s so sweet,” she told NYT as the interview resumed. “Anyway. New friend.”
Musgraves’ Grammy-winning album Golden Hour was the soundtrack of the pop superstar’s photo shoot for his Billboard cover story in March, and Bieber said it was on heavy rotation since he and wife Hailey embarked on a road trip to Utah last summer. During a 2016 interview for Kids Interview Bands, the “Rainbow” singer named Bieber as the artist people would be surprised to find on her phone.
