Here’s a video displaying Gears of War three working on a PS3 devkit

Footage of Gears of War three working on a PS3 devkit has popped up on-line.

According to Proto, who posted the video on-line, the Gears of War three construct you see was created in May 2011, again when Epic Games was nonetheless growing the sequence.

Proto is working the game on a PS3 devkit, and split-screen works, and with the proper instructions, so does multiplayer, based on the video’s description (thanks, Shinobi602).

Apparently, this construct comes from data that was gathered back in 2011 when hackers breached Epic.

Since the video was launched, Kotaku did a giant of digging and based on people aware of the pre-release construct it was certainly created by Epic, however a proof for why a PS3 model of an Xbox-exclusive was made, to start with, is unknown as of press time.

In 2014, Epic sold the series to Microsoft, cementing the franchise’s console exclusivity.
