HBO has moved forward with a new series titled WitSec (short for witness protection), Deadline reports.
The drama is based on the book WITSEC: Inside the Federal Witness Protection Program (2003) by Pete Earley and Gerald Shur. It centers on a lawyer and a mercenary who decide to fight the corruption surrounding them and establish a program to safeguard witnesses.
The scripts are being written by Justin Piasetsky (“The Dispatcher”) and David Cobb (“Foundation”). Peter Chernin (“Planet of the Apes”) is credited as producer. The cast and premiere date have not been announced.
