Harry Styles fans in the United States are going to have to wait a little longer to see him live in concert. The pop star shared an update on his long-awaited tour in a Wednesday (July 14 ) Instagram post, revealing that his tour has been delayed.
“LOVE ON TOUR will be going out across the USA this September and I could not be more excited for these shows,” he wrote in his caption.
The press release confirmed that fans will indeed be able to hear songs from his sophomore album Fine Line performed live, but there are a few changes to the tour: Instead of beginning with U.S. shows in August, as had previously been scheduled, the tour will now kick off Sept. 4 in Las Vegas with a guest appearance from Jenny Lewis. Those earlier shows were nixed due to lingering pandemic-related concerns.
The “Watermelon Sugar” singer added that there are no plans for international dates yet due to COVID-19 restrictions. “To everyone in the UK, and across the world, I can’t wait to see you again, but for obvious reasons it is just not possible at this time,” Styles wrote in his post. He noted earlier in his announcement that “the well-being of my fans, band, and crew, is my top priority.”
More alterations to the U.S. tour include date changes at some locations, as well as the addition of new shows. Registration to purchase tickets for the new dates begins 9 a.m. PT July 14 and runs through Sunday, July 18, according to the press release. The U.S. tour will make five stops in New York City at Madison Square Garden, including two “Harryween” shows on Oct. 30 and 31 featuring special guest Orville Peck, according to the press release.
Love on Tour was originally announced in 2019 and scheduled to begin in April of 2020, but after the coronavirus pandemic forced artists worldwide to cancel their live performances, the tour was rescheduled. The first sign that Love On Tour was still happening came Tuesday (July 13), just one day before Styles’ Instagram post, when Ticketmaster announced date changes for his November shows in Los Angeles.
Before signing off, Styles quickly teased upcoming music. “I will be sharing more news soon about shows across the globe, and new music,” he wrote. “ I love you all so much. I’m very excited, and I can’t wait to see you. H”
