Creators of mythical licenses such as Guitar Hero, Rock Band and Dance Central, the company Harmonix Music Systems has created a solid reputation in terms of video game music experience. It is this expertise that interested Epic Games, which has just announced the acquisition of the British studio for a sum that has not been communicated. What we do know, however, is that Harmonix will put its skills at the service of Fortnite, the musical video game market being uncertain and often in a roller coaster ride. The idea for Epic Games is to deploy all the musical part of Fornite that has not yet revealed its full potential with new creative verticals. It is not known if Harmonix will be able to work on side projects and continue to support old licenses, but at least, by entering the parent company Epic Games, the firm will be immune to financial problems.
