Hacked PS5 Consoles Banned by Sony, Owners Warned of Risks
This is currently the only confirmed case proving that taking a jailbroken PS5 online is now risky.
Sony has blocked a PS5 and its associated PSN account after the hacked console was connected to the internet. At this time, the report covers only a single confirmed incident.
The information surfaced in an unofficial Turkish PlayStation community. According to a user, connecting a jailbroken PS5 to the internet resulted in a loss of access to PSN, with the console itself also subjected to a ban. An accompanying photograph shows error code WS-116332-6, which states that the device’s access to PSN is “temporarily or permanently suspended.”

The post was later deleted, but a group moderator decided to warn other owners of hacked consoles. Sony has not yet reported any mass bans.
The situation has drawn attention against the backdrop of recent successes by the homebrew software scene. A jailbreak already functions on the PS5 running firmware version 13.60, while the current version is 14.10. The new method reduces exploit startup time from approximately 50 minutes to a few seconds and works on both the standard PS5 and the PS5 Pro.
