GTA VI Collector’s Edition Items Prompt Fan Speculation Over Reused Rockstar Concepts

Players have found items resembling promotional merchandise from previous Rockstar games inside the $400 Grand Theft Auto VI collector’s edition, accusing the company of reusing old ideas.

Fans noticed that the Vice City keychain is similar to a previously released item, while the collector’s spoon nearly duplicates a gadget from Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony, differing only in color and logo. A frame or mirror from the new bundle also resembles an item from the original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

The craziest thing (besides the price and the lack of the game itself, of course) is that some of these items are just repurposed gadgets from older GTA games. The mirror is from the original Vice City and the spoon is from The Ballad of Gay Tony lol.

You are very young and don’t remember this, but almost all the items in the Grand Theft Auto VI collector’s edition, The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection (which does not include the game itself), are essentially promotional materials from previous games. As I understand it, the creative team is running out of ideas.

At the same time, the resemblance may be an intentional reference to past installments. However, the Vice City Collection bundle costs $400, and Grand Theft Auto VI is not included in the package. The branded sunglasses serve as the expensive elements of the collector’s set.

Selling collector’s bundles without a game is not new for Rockstar, as the company used a similar approach with Red Dead Redemption 2. This time, the discussion was sparked simultaneously by the price, the absence of the game, and the similarity of certain items to previous promotional materials.
