Ground Zero Hero launches on August 20 for PC and consoles

Ground Zero Hero will launch on August 20, 2026 for PC through Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The release date was announced by solo developer Rowan Edmondson and publisher Acclaim.

The game is a horde-survival action roguelike set in a hand-drawn post-apocalyptic world. Players fight large groups of enemies, collect mutations and combine abilities into different builds during each run.

Stages move through wasteland environments with changing enemy groups and escalating combat. The visual style uses sketch-like characters and effects, accompanied by a dynamic soundtrack that responds to the action.

A 10 percent launch discount is planned on consoles through August 27. The Steam edition is scheduled to receive a 15 percent discount through September 3.
