GRID Legends: 17 min of gameplay and info on Story mode and multiplayer

We had no news from GRID Legends, but luckily Electronic Arts decided it was time to talk about the racing game, still developed by Codemasters. The first thing to note is that the game will be released on February 25, 2022, due in just over 2 months, and the game will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Xbox One. Then, it is the occasion for the creators to give further information on the Story mode, entitled this year in “Driven to Glory” in which we will find more than 250 events, and the return of the Drift and Elimination modes, without counting the introduction of the Electric Boost race. In this regard, we learn that the story mode has chosen to have the actor Ncuti Gatwa (seen recently in Sex Education) as the star and will be filmed with real actors and not with motion capture, mixing real shots and racing challenges. After the story ends, progression continues in career mode, opening up a new series of events for you to complete. From the launch of the game, it will be possible to drive more than 100 vehicles around the world, from classic tracks to emblematic cities and join friends online thanks to the hop-in function which also allows multi-cross-platform.

Multiplayer side, the press release indicates that the system used this year places the race and the connection between friends at the heart of the experience. Not only does it support cross-platform play, but it notifies players when their friends are online and lets them start the race by pressing three quick buttons. No need to wait in lobbies or friend requests anymore, it is possible to select a race and the action starts almost simultaneously. Otherwise, know that the new mode to create your own races allows players to organize their own multi-category races, combining different types of vehicles to create specific moments for each race. The experience can be personalized by changing the weather conditions, time of day, or adding ramps and acceleration gates, so no race is ever the same.
