Justin Hurwitz has gained the Best Original Score Golden Globe for his soundtrack to Damien Chazelle’s First Man. The composer—who scored Chazelle’s earlier movies Whiplash and La La Land (for which Hurwitz took house an Oscar and a Golden Globe)—gained over fellow nominees Alexandre Desplat (Isle of Dogs), Marco Beltrami (A Quiet Place), Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther), and Marc Shaiman (Mary Poppins Returns). This marks Hurwitz’s second Golden Globe for Best Original Score.
