Gold Panda and Jas Shaw (of Simian Mobile Disco) have fashioned a brand new duo. Together, they’re Selling. And on October 10, they launched their debut album On Reflection. Listen to the report, and take a look at their music video for “Keeping Txme” (directed by Tilly Shiner), beneath. The bodily version of On Reflection is about to come back out on December 14 by way of City Slang.
Gold Panda and Shaw made On Reflection in Shaw’s studio in Kent, England. Gold Panda commented in a press launch, “It’s the most immediate and natural record I’ve ever made.” He added:
We didn’t make this for a label or one thing. Initially, it was simply us mucking round. There was no plan to make an album. Originally I assumed we had been going to make a monitor right here and there and stick them out on vinyl. But then, we had an album that sounded fairly good and it was like “well if we have an album’s worth of stuff, maybe we should just release it.” It turned a factor, I suppose.
But we’ll give up if it turns into a smash hit report.
Simian Mobile Disco shared their newest LP, Murmurations, earlier this yr. Gold Panda’s final solo album, Good Luck and Do Your Best, arrived in 2016.
