Gears of War: E-Day Reviews to Release October 1 Ahead of Early Access Launch

Reviews for Gears of War: E-Day will drop on October 1, 2026, at 4:00 PM Moscow time, coinciding with the early access launch for Premium Edition owners.

Developer The Coalition is preparing the series prequel Gears of War: E-Day for release, and Premium Edition owners will be able to start playing on October 1. Game reviews will also be published on that same day at 4:00 PM Moscow time.

Gears of War: E-Day begins on Emergence Day, the day the Locust first appeared, and follows Marcus Fenix and Bravo Team as they defend Kalona from the Locust. The campaign is estimated to last around 14 hours, with the scale of the conflict becoming increasingly apparent as players progress.

The game introduces sliding, vaulting over obstacles to flank enemies, weapon modifications, and new active reload mechanics, while signature wall-bouncing has been removed. Multiplayer modes now feature Demolition and Crucible, and Horde introduces a 12-player Siege mode. The title also requires a graphics card with hardware-accelerated ray tracing support.
