Released in September 2019, Gears 5 is probably not the best episode of the saga, far from it, but it is arguably the game that enjoys regular monitoring from the developers. After the “Hivebusters” update at the end of 2020, The Coalition studio lets us know that the multiplayer mode will be enriched with new features in the coming weeks through what they call “Operation 6”. On the official website, we learn that player feedback was essential in shaping the additional content, and players have asked to shorten the duration of Operations. The Coalition was executed and from now on, these last will last 11 weeks instead of 16. Moreover, among the novelties of this highly anticipated update, we can already count on the presence of three new characters: Colonel Victor Hoffman, Queen Reyna and again Locust Zealot.
We will also be able to enjoy a new map, taken from Gears of War 4 (the worst episode of the saga), and which is none other than Speyer, with its baroque architecture from which a certain serenity emerges. No wonder, since this card represents life before the war with the Locusts. The Coalition teases us more content to come in the coming weeks, and we will have to stay informed to know the rest of the events. In the meantime, it’s March 2, 2021 that “Operation 6” will be deployed on PC, Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One.
