Frodo Appears in New Still from The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum

A fresh promotional still has surfaced from the upcoming expansion of The Lord of the Rings cinematic universe. The fantasy epic, The Hunt for Gollum, is scheduled for an international theatrical release on December 17, 2027.

The image features the franchise’s iconic protagonist, Frodo Baggins, portrayed once again by Elijah Wood. The narrative of The Hunt for Gollum spans events both preceding and overlapping with J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring, unfolding primarily through the perspective of Gollum, played by Andy Serkis.

Andy Serkis also takes the helm as director, while Sir Ian McKellen reprises his legendary role as Gandalf. The star-studded ensemble cast includes Kate Winslet, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jamie Dornan (as Aragorn), Leo Woodall, Lee Pace, and others. Furthermore, Peter Jackson, the visionary behind the original Lord of the Rings trilogy, has contributed to the film’s screenplay.
