The Dare — Freakquencies: Volume 1

The Dare has always brought raver energy—whether contributing to Charli XCX’s Brat or trading kisses with Sophia Ziskin during Charli’s Grammy afterparty performance. Now he unleashes that spirit on his four-track EP Freakquencies: Volume 1. Drawing from DFA, French touch and acid house, the opener “Kick” samples MC5 and layers squelchy acid synths with bright piano stabs to craft a frenzied, almost punk-like dance anthem. This release follows his recent remix of Justice’s “Mannequin Love” and dovetails with his global Freakquencies party series, next stopping at Portola in San Francisco.
