Fortnite’s new season has flooded the world

A storm has swept via Fortnite, leaving the island wanting a bit just like the Universal Studios stunt present, Waterworld: A Live Sea War Spectacular. Chapter 2 Season three launched right now and the battle royale’s map has been remade as soon as once more, with massive chunks of it now underwater. And sure, you actually can get round by quick by snagging a shark together with your fishing rod then water-skiing behind it. A Jason Momoa Aquaman is right here too?

The flood comes within the wake of a live in-game event on Monday involving a mysterious gadget named, ah, The Device. That occasion did have some cool first-person cutscenes too, hinting at… one thing? I couldn’t let you know what Fortnite’s plot is however I do like how Epic inform these scenes in an enormous multiplayer game (it has come at a value: the tempo of creating the stay game has at instances result in horrible crunch at Epic).

Anywho, now many of the map is flooded (seek the advice of the new map) and these waters usually are not empty. Sharks are roaming round, and so they can leap out to flatten you if you happen to’re by the water. But you possibly can kill ’em for the loot of their bellies, and if snag one with a fishing rod you possibly can hop in your skiis and drive it round. Groups of hostile new NPC ‘Marauders’ are dropping in too.

A brand new season means a new battle pass with new skins, wraps, emotes, and different cosmetics. As ever, everybody can unlock a number of bits totally free and it’ll value you 950 V-Bucks for the total go – although passes do ultimately pay out greater than they value, if you happen to play sufficient. It does have some superb skins:

Fortnite is free-to-play through the Epic Games Launcher.
