Former TT Games Head Launches New Studio, Working on a Peter Pan Game

Second Star Games is named after the phrase that points the way to Neverland.

Tom Stone, formerly the managing director of TT Games — the studio famed for its Lego titles — has launched a new company called Second Star Games. The studio is developing a project inspired by the story of Peter Pan with the aim of supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Stone began his career at Lego Interactive, and when the company withdrew from the games business he and Jonathan Smith founded the publisher Giant Interactive, which held the exclusive license for Lego games. After the success of Lego Star Wars, Traveller’s Tales acquired Giant Interactive and formed TT Games, where Stone served as managing director. He spent nearly 18 years working on Lego games before leaving in 2020 to lead FuturLab, the studio behind PowerWash Simulator. In 2024 Stone departed FuturLab and, together with The Blair Partnership and Great Ormond Street Hospital, established Second Star Games.

The new studio — named for the line that guides you to Neverland, “second star to the right and straight on till morning” — has brought together former TT Games colleagues of Stone, including lead game designer Andrew Holt, art director Nicola Dayley and head of engineering Chris Stanford. The Peter Pan project will partially serve to raise funds for the hospital, which, under the 1988 Act, continues to receive royalties in the UK from commercial uses of the Peter Pan character despite the copyright having expired.
