Highlands Fishing is available as a standalone expansion and as part of a new Highlands Fishing Edition that bundles the base game. The expansion is also included in the Year 1 Season Pass.
Welcome to Kinlaig — Where Rolling Hills Meet the Sea
Kinlaig is a windswept coastal region inspired by Scotland’s rugged scenery. Expect rocky inlets, green pastures and wide, dramatic skies. You can continue working the land with Highland cattle and traditional crops, or pivot to aquaculture and build a maritime enterprise — the choice is yours.
New production lines and construction projects give you ways to expand your business and increase revenue — including the chance to restore an old castle and bring life back to the town.
Fishing & Breeding — From Shoreline Relaxation to Commercial Fisheries
Highlands Fishing expands gameplay with two complementary approaches to the sea: calm, recreational angling from the shore, and full-scale professional aquaculture. Any sizable body of water is a potential fishing site — from small ponds to open bays.
As your ambitions grow you can invest in larger infrastructure — cargo ships, feed production, and pens to farm salmon and trout at commercial scales.

Onions & Highland Cattle — New Crops and Hardy Breeds
Highlands Fishing introduces onions as a new root crop. Sow in early spring (March–April), maintain with fertiliser and weed control, then cut the haulms before harvest in late summer (August–September). Specialized machinery is required for planting, tending and processing.
New production chains let you convert raw onions into value-added goods such as onion salt, soups and fried products — expanding your product catalogue and profit opportunities.
Over 20 New Machines — Including Boats
The expansion adds more than 20 pieces of equipment. New manufacturers such as Agri-Spread, Can-Am, GT Bunning and Monosem bring tools for fieldwork and maritime operations alike, letting you manage land and sea tasks with dedicated gear.
New Constructions, Production Sites & Decorative Options
Kinlaig features rebuilding projects — restore an old castle, erect a windmill, and unlock functioning production points as rewards. The map also adds new selling stations, factories and decorative assets (trees, fences, shrubs) to personalise the landscape.
Seasonal decorations appear in town for Halloween and Christmas, adding life and atmosphere during those events.
Explore Kinlaig — Secrets & Stories
Kinlaig hides collectibles and small stories across its landscape. Track down message-filled bottles and log them in the castle ledger. Stop by the harbour and speak with Alasdair to learn local lore and pick up hints about the sea and its creatures.

If you own the Year 1 Season Pass, Highlands Fishing will unlock automatically. Otherwise you can buy the expansion by itself or purchase the Season Pass (which also includes the NEXAT Pack, Plains & Prairies and the Mercedes‑Benz Trucks Pack) to access all included content.
