First details of Martin Scorsese’s new film revealed

Leonardo DiCaprio appeared on the podcast The Big Picture and shared new information about his upcoming project — a mystical thriller titled “What Happened at Night,” directed by Martin Scorsese. His on-screen partner will be Jennifer Lawrence, and filming is scheduled to begin in January 2026.

The story follows a married couple who check into a remote hotel populated by peculiar guests. As events unfold, they begin to question the nature of what’s happening around them — and even the reality of their own relationship.

DiCaprio said Scorsese’s new film draws inspiration from Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo. He also described “What Happened at Night” as intended to be “a religious experience.”

It’s worth noting that DiCaprio and Lawrence previously co-starred in Adam McKay’s satirical comedy Don’t Look Up.
