Gunna’s The Last Wun Dominates This Week’s New Music Poll

In our latest reader poll, published August 8, Atlanta rapper Gunna’s sixth studio album, The Last Wun, was selected as the standout release of the week.

Capturing nearly 57% of total votes, The Last Wun outpaced strong contenders such as Machine Gun Kelly’s Lost Americana, Laufey’s “Snow White,” the Jonas Brothers’ Greetings From Your Hometown and Ethel Cain’s Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You.

Featuring 25 tracks, including singles “Won’t Stop” and “Him All Along,” the album boasts star-studded collaborations with Offset, Wizkid, Asake, Burna Boy and Nechie.

Given the sense of finality in its title, speculation has arisen that this could be Gunna’s last release under YSL Records/300 Entertainment, amid the fallout from the YSL RICO trial.

“Ideas come naturally through living,” Gunna told Uproxx in June. “There wasn’t a single theme—just my life unfolding in real time.”

Gunna previously topped the Billboard 200 with 2022’s DS4EVER. Every solo album he’s released has debuted in the top three and claimed No. 1 on the Top Rap Albums chart.

Machine Gun Kelly’s Lost Americana claimed second place with 13% of votes—his first full-length Americana project after ventures into hip-hop and pop-punk—while the “Other” category captured nearly 9%.
