The first real collaboration between Electronic Arts and Codemasters since the acquisition of the latter in December 2020 will therefore take the form of EA Sports F1 22. The opportunity for EA to establish its authority by adding the famous name “EA Sports” before the title, but also to validate the entire production process. A new era in terms of development, but also in the game itself since it will be the first episode that will allow us to drive hybrid cars, while new rules will reinvent the race weekend with the inclusion of F1 Sprint races. Another novelty of this EA Sports F1 22, the introduction of the Miami Grand Prix, a first for the series, as well as the addition of F1 Life, a new mode which comes in the form of a customizable hub where players can show off their collection of supercars, apparel and accessories, and show off to the world.
On the gameplay and driving side, the developers of Codemasters announce that they have updated the physics which take into account the new aerodynamic rules, with real work on the tires so that the rendering is more realistic than ever, especially in handling and sensations. It is also indicated that the AI is also part of the significant improvements since it should be adaptive to adapt to the level of each player. The “My Stable” and “Career” modes have each been improved with three entry points for “My Stable” which are Newcomer, Challenger, and Front Runner. Finally, be aware that the PC version will offer a new VR mode, playable on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive for an immersive experience inside the cockpit.
The release of EA Sports F1 22 is expected on July 1 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, PS4 and Xbox One.
