This previous May, the Eventbrite-owned ticketing service Ticketfly fell sufferer to a cyber attack that exposed the information of 27 million customers, together with “names, addresses, emails, and phone numbers of Ticketfly fans.” Now, a girl named Shanice Kloss has filed a category motion lawsuit in opposition to Eventbrite, claiming “consumer fraud and deceptive business practices, breach of contract, breach of implied contract and negligence,” as Billboard reviews.
In the criticism, Kloss reportedly cites lack of accountability from the corporate, stating that Eventbrite “failed to reasonably implement a breach notification protocol” when informing customers of the hacking incident. The lawsuit is looking for damages in addition to a “requirement that Eventbrite provide identity fraud monitoring services for effected customers” and higher safety measures for future prospects.
