Euro Truck Simulator 2 Takes Another Step Toward Consoles: Developers Prepare Game for PS5 and Xbox Series Release
SCS Software opened public beta testing for update 1.61 in Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. The update introduces the Multi-Function Display interface.
Developers moved to this testing phase following the June 1.60 update, which brought radio stations and graphical improvements alongside major audio changes.
The Multi-Function Display allows drivers to manage truck lighting, various vehicle features, and route information without memorizing dozens of keybinds. The interface supports keyboard, mouse, gamepad, and steering wheel inputs.
The update also includes a redesigned quick menu. This feature aims to make game controls easier to navigate for new players.
These interface changes align with reports of upcoming console ports for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. While some expect these versions to arrive in early 2027, SCS Software has not confirmed a release date.
Players can access the 1.61 beta now. The full release should arrive within the next few weeks.
