Escape from Tarkov Is Now Less Hardcore — Softcore Patch Changes the Rules
Players who complained about the hardcore wipe can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Escape from Tarkov’s developers, who previously catered to hardcore fans, have now released a softcore patch.
Numerous restrictions have been lifted and several concessions introduced. The game is expected to run in this mode until the scheduled November 15 release.
Softcore patch changes for Escape from Tarkov:
- Reduced the inertia penalty tied to carried weight — inertia’s effect now scales down proportionally as load increases;
- Aimpunch effect reduced by 60%;
- The weight threshold for becoming encumbered has been increased by 50%;
- All level‑2 traders now offer barter deals exchanging PMC military tokens for various equipment;
- Increased number of containers holding valuable items across all locations;
- More backpacks and stashes have been added to every location;
- Various container spawns have been added to Marked Rooms;
- Higher spawn chance for colored access keycards to the Laboratory on the Laboratory map;
- Restrictions on trading items on the Flea Market have been removed;
- Flea Market access now unlocks at level 10, with the ability to post at least five listings;
- Skill progression rates for PMCs have been increased, adjusted individually per skill;
- Increased experience multiplier for successfully completed raids;
- The ability to earn hardcore-wipe achievements has been removed.
