Lily Collins, the face of the hit series Emily in Paris, is set to step into the shoes of the cinematic icon Audrey Hepburn in an upcoming feature film detailing the making of Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The casting news was first unveiled by The Hollywood Reporter.
The screenplay for the project will be penned by Alena Smith, the creator of the acclaimed series Dickinson. Her script will draw inspiration from Sam Wasson’s non-fiction work, Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M. While a director has yet to be attached to the project, the production is being spearheaded by Imagine Entertainment, the studio behind A Beautiful Mind. A specific premiere date remains under wraps.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s stands as a seminal adaptation of Truman Capote’s novella, centered on the enigmatic and hedonistic Manhattan socialite Holly Golightly, whose life takes an unexpected turn when she develops a bond with her new neighbor.
This production joins a growing list of attempts to bring Hepburn’s legacy to the screen. In 2022, a high-profile biopic starring Rooney Mara was announced with director Luca Guadagnino at the helm for Apple Studios, though the project ultimately stalled. More recently, reports emerged regarding Dinner with Audrey, a film focused on the profound friendship between Hepburn and designer Hubert de Givenchy, featuring Thomasin McKenzie in the lead role.
