Elsie Fisher—star of Eighth Grade—has been forged in an upcoming musical movie about cult legends the Shaggs, the Hollywood Reporter notes. Simply titled The Shaggs, the musical can be directed by Ken Kwapus (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, He’s Just Not That Into You). The screenplay was written by Joy Gregory primarily based on Susan Orlean’s 1999 New Yorker article concerning the the Wiggin sisters, “Meet the Shaggs.”
In 2016, the Shaggs reissued their sole album Philosophy of the World. The following 12 months, they reunited for his or her first show in over 15 years.
