Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” is off to a flying start in the U.K. chart.
The British singer and songwriter’s latest release blasts to No. 1 on the First Look chart, which ranks the most popular songs in the early stages of the chart week.
In just 48 hours, “Bad Habits” blows up with 1.5 million streams, the OCC reports, to set it on a path to Sheeran’s tenth No. 1.
Sheeran last led the Official U.K. Singles Chart with 2019’s “Own It,” his collaboration with hip-hop artists Stormzy and Burna Boy.
With Sheeran taking pole position, Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U” looks set to lose its crown for the first time in five weeks. Rodrigo’s hit slips to No. 2 on the chart blast, just ahead of The Weeknd’s “Save Your Tears”.
Eurovision Song Contest 2021 champs Maneskin are making their move, as “I Wanna Be Your Slave” rises 6-5 and their viral cover of The Four Seasons’ “Beggin’” rises 10-7, both potential new chart peaks.
Further down the list, prolific Scottish DJ Calvin Harris is chasing a 27th Top 10 single with “By Your Side” featuring Tom Grennan, up 11-10, while Doja Cat and The Weeknd’s “You Right,” lifted from Doja’s newly-released LP Planet Her, starts at No. 14.
The Official U.K. Singles Chart is published late Friday, local time.
