Ed Sheeran and Megan Thee Stallion were the subjects of the latest Billboard-centered matchups on VersusGame.
As announced last month, Billboard and VersusGame have joining forces to bring music fans a one-of-a-kind, user-generated experience with games that test knowledge of pop culture for a chance to win prizes and monetize trend predictions. Billboard is hosting bi-weekly head-to-head challenges on entertainment and pop culture gaming app VersusGame, where fans can vote on their favorite artists and songs and wager on who will top the charts and more. (In previous games, VersusGame data shows that fans have predicted correct chart outcomes 72% of the time so far.)
Last week’s challenges featured the following two questions:
Ed Sheeran released his latest album, =, Oct. 29. How many songs will he have in the top 40 of next week’s Billboard Hot 100: Five or more, or four or fewer?
Answer: Four or fewer. As the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 (dated Nov. 13), the set generated two top 40 entries on the Hot 100, among three total on the chart. Lead single “Bad Habits” placed the highest, at No. 4, with follow-up single “Shivers” up to No. 6. “Overpass Graffiti” came close, debuting at No. 41.
Megan Thee Stallion released her archival project Something for Thee Hotties: From Thee Archives Oct. 29. Will it break the top 10 of the Billboard 200: Yes or no?
Answer: Yes, the set debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 with 39,000 equivalent album units, according to MRC Data. It became her fourth career top 10, and second to reach the top five, after 2020’s Good News, which hit No. 2.
