Dying Light: The Beast Surpasses New Milestone — Analysts Reveal the Game’s Sales
Market research firm Alinea Analytics reported that Techland’s latest title moved more than 1.5 million units within a week of launch.
Roughly one million of those copies were purchased on Steam. Eighty-two percent of buyers identified as fans of the original game, and 77% had previously played Dying Light 2: Stay Human — a testament to the franchise’s devoted community. Techland also celebrated an early milestone: the title secured over one million pre-orders before release.
Series director Tymon Smektala said, “Knowing the game was ready and seeing the community’s enthusiasm, we wanted to create something special for players.” The studio advanced the launch schedule so fans could access the game sooner.
Dying Light: The Beast features the most varied world the series has produced — spanning the Old Town and industrial biomes to swamps and rural settlements. Game director Nathan Lemær described it as “the most multifaceted world” Techland has built.
The game is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One editions planned for a later date. Reviewers have praised the narrative while noting that the character Kyle Crane lacks depth.
