Dungeons & Dragons had a little bit of enjoyable with the interior naming of their newest launch. Today, Dungeons & Dragons is releasing Curse of Strahd Revamped, a field set containing an up to date model of Curse of Strahd with some new goodies for gamers to get pleasure from. As Curse of Strahd Revamped shipments made their approach to game shops, a minimum of one retailer observed one thing….uncommon concerning the delivery labels for the field. LaTia Jacquise, a retailer, D&D author, and forged member of the incredible D&D sequence Rivals of Waterdeep, identified on Twitter that the field for Curse of Strahd Revamped was labelled “D&D Edward.” Tipped off by Jacquise’s tweet, ComicBook.com reached out to Wizards of the Coast, who confirmed that the interior codename for Curse of Strahd Revamped was certainly “Edward.”
My favourite factor about Strahdmas immediately is that the field it got here in didn’t say “Curse of Strahd Revamped”, it simply stated “D&D Edward”. pic.twitter.com/D0twrxCFwn

“Edward” is nearly actually a reference to Edward Cullen, one of many essential characters of the Twilight sequence of novels. Cullen is famously a vegetarian vampire who falls in love with Bella Swan and ultimately attracts her into Stephanie Meyer’s distinctive interpretation of vampire society. We’ll be aware that the Twilight books are largely set in Washington state on the Olympic Peninsula, roughly four hours from the Wizards of the Coast headquarters in Seattle.
In addition to each Edward and Strahd von Zarovich being vampires, the duo share another similarities as properly. Both have possessive qualities – Edward famously kidnapped Bella after tricking her into attending a sleepover, whereas Strahd’s obsession over his one love Tatyana led him to kill his brother and grow to be a vampire in an effort to “woo” her. One of the core plotlines of Curse of Strahd is that the get together is making an attempt to guard the supposed reincarnation of Tatyana from Strahd, resulting in a confrontation within the well-known Castle Ravenloft. But whereas it may be argued that Edward’s optimistic qualities outweigh his worst tendencies, Strahd undoubtedly is a villain and a posh one.
You can try Curse of Strahd Revamped, which is now obtainable in game shops. Dungeon Masters working the journey are welcome to make as many Twilight references as they’d like.
