Dua Lipa’s “Levitating” video has now surpassed one billion views on YouTube, marking her third clip to hit this landmark after 2017’s “New Rules” and “No Lie.”

Directed by Warren Fu in collaboration with TikTok, the video whisks the pop star into a cosmic portal that resembles a retro-futuristic elevator. Clad in a shimmering blue gown and sporting glittering eyelids—an homage to the lyric “Glitter in my eye, shining just the way you like”—Lipa and her crew dance with infectious energy.

Rapper DaBaby, whose remix helped propel “Levitating” to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021, joins the ride. As the elevator ascends, it reveals a gravity-defying, ring-shaped disco set against the vastness of space.

“You want me, I want you, baby / My sugarboo, I’m levitating,” Lipa sings on the dance-pop anthem. “The Milky Way, we’re renegading / Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.”

One of the standout singles from her 2020 album Future Nostalgia, “Levitating” became one of the decade’s defining tracks. As of 2025, it ranks as the ninth-biggest Hot 100 hit of the 21st century, surpassing smash hits like Harry Styles’ “As It Was” and Post Malone’s “Circles.”

Since then, Lipa has celebrated major milestones—announcing her engagement to actor Callum Turner and releasing her 2024 album Radical Optimism. She also publicly disavowed DaBaby following his homophobic remarks at Rolling Loud in 2021.

“I’m surprised and horrified by DaBaby’s comments,” Lipa stated. “I no longer recognize the person I collaborated with.”
