Dua Lipa Teams Up with Chaka Khan for “Ain’t Nobody” at Chicago Tour Opener

During the inaugural U.S. stop of her Radical Optimism World Tour, Dua Lipa delighted attendees with an unexpected guest.

On Friday, September 5, the 30-year-old British sensation kicked off a two-night residency at Chicago’s United Center, captivating the sold-out audience with dazzling ensembles and a 22-song repertoire drawn from her newest album, Radical Optimism.

Midway through the show, Lipa—adorned in a shimmering black coat with feathered sleeves—astounded the crowd by inviting music icon Chaka Khan on stage, where they delivered an electrifying duet of Khan’s 1983 hit “Ain’t Nobody.” Check out fan-recorded highlights here.

This marks not the first occasion on which Lipa has collaborated with legendary performers on her world tour. Earlier this year, she welcomed Crowded House’s Neil Finn in New Zealand and later surprised London audiences by inviting Jamiroquai to perform.

The U.S. chapter of the Radical Optimism tour proceeds on Saturday, September 6, with a second performance in Chicago before moving on to Boston, Atlanta, New York, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle.

Unveiled last year, Radical Optimism is Lipa’s third studio opus, which debuted at number two on the Billboard 200. The album spawned multiple hits, notably the lead single “Houdini,” which reigned atop Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for 17 weeks. To promote the record, Lipa embarked on the Radical Optimism tour in November 2024, filling arenas across Asia, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
