After hearing her fans out, Dua Lipa is standing firmly against DaBaby and his homophobic comments he made over the last 48 hours.

In a post on her Instagram Stories, the disco-pop star, who featured DaBaby on her Billboard Hot 100 top five remix of “Levitating,” said she couldn’t disagree more with the rapper’s statements made at Rolling Loud Miami and on his Instagram. “I’m surprised and horrified at DaBaby’s comments. I really don’t recognize this as the person I worked with,” she wrote. “I know my fans know where my heart lies and that I stand 100% with the LGTBQ community. We need to come together to fight the stigma and ignorance around HIV/AIDS.”

During his set at Rolling Loud’s closing night Sunday, DaBaby told the crowd, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases, that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up! Ladies, if your p—y smell like water, put your cellphone lighter up! Fellas, if you ain’t sucking di– in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up!”

He then went on to defend his statements in a series of Instagram Stories posted Monday, claiming that his comments were “not y’all’s business” unless you were in attendance at his show, before he made more hurtful claims about queer people and HIV/AIDS. “My gay fans don’t got f—ing AIDS, stupid a– n—as. They don’t got AIDS,” he said in his hurtful tirade. “My gay fans, they take care of themselves. They ain’t no nasty gay n—as. See what I’m saying? They ain’t no junkies in the street.”

Following DaBaby’s comments, fans of Dua Lipa began calling on her to remove DaBaby from her “Levitating” remix, with some calling for her to replace the rapper’s verse with a new verse by Lil Nas X or Megan Thee Stallion. Lipa did not confirm in her statement whether she would remove DaBaby from the remix.
