Dua Lipa showed love to Amy Winehouse while channeling the late artist’s signature hairdo on the red carpet at the 2021 Brit Awards Tuesday (May 11).
The “Levitating” superstar wore a yellow over-the-shoulder minidress with a long train, black tights and platform booties, a similar ensemble to what Winehouse wore at the 2007 Brit Awards. Winehouse’s iconic yellow Preen minidress will be auctioned off by her family ahead of the 10th anniversary of her death in July.
Lipa will be performing at the Brits this year, where she is also nominated in three categories: album of the year (dubbed as Mastercard album) for Future Nostalgia, British single for “Physical” and female solo artist. She is in a five-way tie for the lead, along with Arlo Parks, Celeste, Joel Corry and Young T & Bugsey.
The English pop star is the only artist nominated for both the top album and single awards.
Lipa could be headed for her second win for British single, a category she won two years ago for “One Kiss,” her collab with Calvin Harris. If she wins Tuesday, she’ll join Adele as the only female artist to be triumphant twice in the category. Lipa could also take home another female solo artist award after she won in that category in 2018.
The 2021 Brit Awards air Tuesday starting at 3 p.m. ET on the Brit Awards YouTube channel live from London’s O2 arena. U.K. viewers can tune into the show on ITV and ITV Hub.
