Dropout Announces Game Changer Board Game with Upcoming Kickstarter Launch

Fans of the delightfully unpredictable comedy series Game Changer have more than just a new season to anticipate. Dropout CEO Sam Reich recently announced that the company is bringing the show’s signature brand of organized chaos directly to your living room. On Tuesday, Reich revealed that a Kickstarter campaign for Game Changer: Home Edition is slated to launch next month.

Since its 2019 premiere, Game Changer has established itself as the cornerstone of the Dropout streaming platform. Each episode features contestants who are famously kept in the dark, forced to figure out the rules of the game while they are actively playing it. Maintaining that sense of mystery, the specific mechanics of the Home Edition have not yet been disclosed. In a series of updates on Bluesky, Reich encouraged enthusiasts to follow the Kickstarter page for upcoming reveals, hinting that the gameplay will draw inspiration from iconic episodes of the series.

Reich explained that while the company could have rushed a home version years ago, they prioritized quality, waiting until they could “get it right.” He noted that this specific format is designed to be modular, allowing the experience to grow and evolve over time—a long-term investment for the Dropout community.

By utilizing Kickstarter, Dropout aims to refine the game based on direct backer feedback. According to the project’s FAQ, the May 5 launch will include specific details on how the audience can participate in the final stages of the game’s development.

This isn’t the network’s first foray into the tabletop market. They previously partnered with Wiggles 3D to create a board game adaptation of Um, Actually, which is currently available for purchase. However, those hoping to find Game Changer: Home Edition at local retailers may need to wait; the FAQ confirms the game will not be available for wholesale at this time, making the crowdfunding campaign the primary way for fans to secure a copy.

Further details regarding reward tiers and campaign goals will be made public when the Kickstarter officially opens on May 5.
