Drake Playfully Trolls Warriors’ Klay Thompson With Hilarious Viral Boat Video Reenactment

Drake is having some fun with Klay Thompson’s viral boat video.

On Sunday (June 6), the “What’s Next” rapper took to social media to share a hilarious reenactment of the Golden State Warriors star’s recent boat ride — dubbed “Boat Klay” by fans — on the San Francisco Bay, which the NBA player streamed the day before on Instagram Live.

In the side-by-side clip, Drake playfully mimics part of Thompson’s open water livestream, in which the Toronto MC’s 2018 Scorpion track “Mob Ties” is heard playing in the background. After attempting to rap along to the song, Thompson congratulates Drake for being named Artist of the Decade at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards in May.

“Shout-out Drake, Artist of the Decade,” Thompson says while steering the boat. “Man, that’s impressive. We had a little beef, we had the city turned up. That’s my last taste of hooch, man. NBA Finals, I miss it. There’s nothing like the finals, yo. Nothing like it.”

In the lead-up to the NBA Finals in 2019, where the Warriors battled against Drake’s hometown Raptors, Thompson joked that he wouldn’t be listening to Drizzy’s “soft R&B songs” during the series. The two exchanged some more playful trash talk during the finals, which ended in the Raptors winning its first NBA championship.
