Doja Cat captures the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart for the third time in her career as “Kiss Me More,” featuring SZA, advances from the runner-up position on the list dated June 26. The collaboration enters the penthouse thanks to a 9% gain in plays in the week ending June 20 to become the radio format’s most-played song of the week, according to MRC Data.
“Kiss” is Doja Cat’s third Rhythmic Airplay leader, following “Say So,” which reigned for three weeks in 2020, and her featured turn on Saweetie’s “Best Friend,” a one-week champ in April.
SZA, meanwhile, earns her first No. 1 on Rhythmic Airplay. Her prior best showing was a No. 3 peak for three different tracks: Her 2017 breakout single “Love Galore,” featuring Travis Scott, the following year’s collaboration “All the Stars” with Kendrick Lamar for the soundtrack to Marvel’s Black Panther film, and a guest turn on DJ Khaled’s “Just Us” in 2019.
Beyond its rhythmic coronation, “Kiss” pushes 5-3 on Pop Airplay thanks to a 16% increase in plays in the tracking week and advances 24-22 on Adult Pop Airplay through a 29% weekly play jump. Strong showings at rhythmic and pop radio plus the gaining reception at the adult pop sector help the song break into the top five on the all-genre Radio Songs chart. There, “Kiss” scales 6-4 with 60.8 million in total audience reach across all formats in the week, according to MRC Data.
“Kiss” will appear on Doja Cat’s forthcoming album, Planet Her, scheduled for release Friday (June 25). In addition to SZA, the album will contain appearances by artists including Ariana Grande and The Weeknd, whose collaboration “You Right” will serve as the LP’s second single.
