Doja Cat Pulls Out of Austin City Limits to Focus on ‘Vie’ Release, The Killers Take Over Headlining Slot

Regrettably, Doja Cat has withdrawn from her headlining appearances at Austin City Limits Festival, and in her place, The Killers will now lead the main stage.

In an Instagram Story on Friday, August 29, the rapper explained that she needs additional time to focus on the rollout of her forthcoming album, Vie. “When I committed, I hadn’t settled on a release date for Vie,” she shared.

“I’m finalizing the record, filming music videos and orchestrating a campaign I’m truly passionate about,” she added. “I’ve realized I can’t deliver the performance you deserve within the current schedule. I’m deeply grateful to the ACL team for their support, and I look forward to seeing you when the time is right.”

Shortly after her announcement, ACL posted that The Killers will headline on both Sundays, October 5 and October 12. “Please welcome @thekillers to the main stage for both Sundays of ACL Fest!” the festival wrote on Instagram.

This news arrives ahead of Vie’s September 26 release, whose lead single “Jealous Type” is already out.

Despite Doja Cat’s absence, ACL’s lineup remains packed with top acts: Sabrina Carpenter and Hozier will headline the alternate weekends, and performances by Luke Combs, Cage the Elephant, Doechii, The Strokes, John Summit and more promise two unforgettable weekends.
