DJ Khaled was counting his blessings on Thursday (Aug. 12) after revealing that he and his family recently recovered from a bout of COVID-19.
“Thank you grateful for all the love grateful for everyone checking in on my family and I! Please be safe out there! Please take care of yourself,” he wrote in the caption to an Instagram post.
“Thank you for your calls and prayers! My family and I recovered from COVID and we’re all good now!!” he said. “Thank you to DOCTORS ,thank you Dovi thank you to my Queen thank you Rosa thank you to my WE THE BEST team my management ROCNATION and My partners at EPIC RECORDS for holding me up while Me and my family focused on recovery.”
Back in April 2020, Khaled and his wife Nicole Tuck announced that their We the Best Foundation had partnered with Direct Relief and simplehuman to provide additional healthcare supplies to those on the front line in New York and Miami hospitals. In Thursday’s post, Khaled — who was conspicuously absent from social media for three weeks — also included photos and videos of Tuck with the couple’s two children, Asahd and Aalam. Khaled did not specify if the whole family contracted COVID.
Khaled is the latest musician to reveal that they have tested positive for the novel coronavirus that has killed more than 620,000 Americans to date. His post drew messages of support from DJ Nasty (“He’s Back! god The Greatest! Now y’all can stop asking me, what’s up with khaled?”), legendary record exec Tommy Mottola, Flipp Dinero and many more.
