Dizzee Rascal has received a community order requiring him to wear an electronic tag and observe a 24-week curfew, The Guardian reports. The sentencing in a south London court today (April 8) followed the ruling in March that he had assaulted his ex-fiancée during a domestic dispute. The judge said he had shown “no remorse” and continued “to place the blame” on his ex-partner. He was also given a 12-month restraining order.

The grime artist, 36, was charged with assault last August. In court, prosecutors detailed Dizzee Rascal’s assault against the woman, who is also the mother to his two children. He had pushed her to the ground while arguing about custody of the children after “barging” his way into her home.

Dizzee Rascal reportedly smashed a press photographer’s camera after the guilty verdict in March. The grime pioneer had been honored as a Member of the Order of the British Empire for his services to music in 2020.
