Divinity Fan Decodes Trailer Runes to Predict Larian Studios Game Villain
Developers appear to have left a hidden clue for dedicated fans of the Divinity universe.
Players have recently turned their attention back to the new Divinity project. Larian Studios previously released only a cinematic trailer and a making-of documentary. Content creator WolfheartFPS examined this footage and spotted details that potentially help uncover the main villain of Divinity ahead of time.
According to the trailer’s plot, a character is sacrificed, but the ritual clearly does not go as originally planned. WolfheartFPS focused on the crown worn by the sacrificial victim. In the trailer, inscriptions are visible on the crown, but viewers could not make them out.
However, the making-of video differs because the creators show the character models in greater detail. Runes were depicted on the crown, and WolfheartFPS successfully deciphered them to read “chaos is coming.”

A theory has previously circulated among fans that the Lord of Chaos will serve as the main antagonist. This discovery serves as indirect confirmation that such an antagonist may appear.
The new installment in the Divinity franchise does not yet have an exact release date, and Larian Studios has not yet announced a release window.
