Dispatch developers regret cutting erotic scenes from the game — but they could still be restored
The team hadn’t anticipated such a voracious reaction from players.
AdHoc co-founder and one of Dispatch’s creators, Pierre Shorette, told Inverse that the developers regret cutting the erotic scenes.
We did cut several sex scenes. In hindsight, that was probably a mistake. Maybe people will get to see them someday.
According to him, the team hadn’t predicted such a voracious response from players.
That’s probably why we didn’t plan additional romantic routes — we didn’t realize how central they would become to players’ experience.
Dispatch contains only two romance options. Disappointed by the limited selection, some players tried to pursue relationships with other characters, and the developers jokingly responded that perhaps “players are making the wrong choices”.
