Bandai Namco can already celebrate a win. Digimon Story: Time Stranger is quickly making strides in the market and appears primed for strong commercial performance.
The game is posting impressive numbers on Steam: over 70,000 concurrent players at peak — more than three times the peak seen by the recently released Metal Gear Solid Delta. At the time of this report, Digimon Story ranks third on Steam’s sales chart, trailing only CS2 and Battlefield 6.
Early user feedback is promising as well — the title holds an average score of 84% based on more than 1,300 user reviews.
Media coverage is helping drive purchases. According to OpenCritic, the project has an average score of 8/10 from 53 reviews, with outlets MonsterVine and The Outerhaven Productions awarding top marks.
For those on the fence, Bandai Namco offers a demo on Steam.
