Dierks Bentley has been hard at work in recent months, launching his Beers on Me Tour 2021 (named after Bentley’s radio single) and joining Blake Shelton to film episodes of NBC’s The Voice, as an advisor for Shelton’s team.
Bentley recently spoke with ET during a California stop on his tour to discuss working with Shelton on the singing competition.
“It was amazing, you know? It was so great seeing him,” Bentley said. “We hadn’t seen each other in a long time.”
Bentley also joked about not being invited to Shelton’s wedding earlier this year to fellow music star Gwen Stefani, though Bentley added that he understood wanting to keep the ceremony small. “Well, I got an invitation the first wedding, but I didn’t get one to the second,” he shared. “So I know who invited me!”
Shelton’s wedding to Stefani, held over the Fourth of July weekend, was an intimate gathering limited to close friends and family.
“It’s really cool, the way that his wedding’s private like that, I’m so happy for him,” Bentley said. “He found Gwen and he’s doing so well, great music, recording together. He’s doing so great.”
When questioned about whether he sent Shelton a wedding gift, Bentley replied, “My presence at The Voice was his present!”
Joining Bentley on his Beers on Me 2021 Tour are openers Riley Green and Parker McCollum. One of Bentley’s “Beers on Me” collaborators, Breland, also joins for a few tour dates (HARDY also joins Bentley and Breland on the “Beers on Me” recording).
“He’s such a hustler,” Bentley says of Breland. “He’s working so hard and he’s so talented. He’s just the nicest guy, and he’s a new face that we need in country music. When Breland came on my song ‘Beers on Me,’ I mean, the verse he wrote — nobody in Nashville is writing that verse. That’s talent that’s from the outside is coming in and making Nashville a better town all the way around.”
